"Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life." -Steve Jobs
Without doubt, "Why" is a good approach to Critical thinking which improve our society a lot somehow, but remember that life is connected when you look backward. As a result, do NOT be over harsh to yourself or others, since you never know what will happen next.
If you keep asking WHY, you will probably be overwhelmingly strapped there or even constantly feel exhausted in this way.
Let me give you some interesting stories that most main characters seldom ask WHY and determinedly do what they think is right. You know what? Their lives are connected somehow!
1. Why International volunteers, since you are wasting resources for taking flight there without long-term help?
The answer would definitely be NO in the perspective of resource, but not really for those who could change their lives or others' lives in this way.
As a 23 years old youth took flight to a few developing countries while most of his friends were pursuing better career. However, he founded ELIV which developed long-term projects for certain rural areas in developing countries with more than thousands of participants in 2 years!
2. Why giving up famous school in UK, but traveled around Europe by couch surfing?
Most thought it was absolutely stupid decision, but it turned out to be amazing progress that he beaten all other participants in photography contest and won champion! Also, he got lot of friends for life during his adventure!
3. Why giving 30 Euros and post cards to Korean girl who i first met, just because ATM was broken?
I had no idea indeed, just by nature. To my surprise, she contacted me and invited me to play around in Brussel, Belgium few days ago.
To conclude, We always make what we have done reasonable, but true is the other way around.Everything exists for reasons, but you may not notice till they are connected.
Thus, think twice before you leap, and try best to explore what you make up your mind to do!
Next time you are tired of this kind of question, you can just answer "WHY NOT?" Or give a big simile as reply. In other words, do not be too harsh to others as well!
